Leigh Ann Phillips is an award-winning singer songwriter, sound healing practitioner, lecturer, and teacher. She is on a mission to merge sound and music to assist people in leading more fulfilling lives in healthier bodies. Her work is taking her all over the world and back again - to her nest in the San Luis Valley of south central Colorado. I met this beautiful light being in Taos, NM, a few years ago. We recognized each other instantly even tho we had never met. She spoke ancient words to me that cleansed my soul right there on the spot. She often does radio shows that stream live, so if you're interested, jump on her site and see where she's appearing next.

Singing right from the soul, Tina, is the front man (woman) for M-PROJECT, a newly formed New York band consisting of six veteran musicians: Tina, Robin, Jeff, Fred, Chris and Marty, playing their favorite classic covers and presenting original music to clubs along the Tri-State music circuit. Tina belts it out like Aretha and Janis but her ballads, such as "Whiter Shade of Pale" (Procol Harum), will leave you sweetly mesmerized. Tina and I started playing music together several years ago in Indiana before I went West and she went East. Her uncompromising devotion to Mother Earth and her compassionate wisdom always surprise me and continually hone me closer to the meaning of integrity.

| One of the sweetest souls I know is Dave Hill.
But don't let his soft-spoken, humble, golly-gee demeanor fool you. He plays guitar like a cultivated maniac. He was the winner of the Swallow Hill fingerpicking contest in Denver, CO, in 2005. He has also played with such greats as, Roger Williams and Jackie King (to name a couple) as well as with the San Antonio Symphony. Always ready to lend a helping hand wherever he goes, do yourself a favor and check this guy out: guitarhill.com. |

Flutist, Jan Wright, is also a highly accomplished visual artist,
whose work honors the Native American tradition. Watercolors, shields,
beadwork, etc., are all part of her beautiful talents. She's a full-time
artist and musician and is currently working on her first book which will be
accompanied with a CD of her original flute music. If you want to treat
your eyes to a sweet repast, visit her website: ButterflyVisions.com.

Check out one of my favorite acoustic guitar players, Tommy Emmanuel.
If you ever get a chance to see this guy live, he will blow your socks off (or
sandals, in my case). Born in Australia, he's been touring since he was eight. His many accolades include two Grammy nominations, Best Guitarist by Rolling Stone Magazine in 1990, and Best Acoustic Guitarist by Guitar Players Magazine in 2008. The joy and wild abandon that signature his playing are truly inspirational (photo by Dave Hill).

Here's one of my favorite female
singer/song-writers, Karen
Ires. She is absolutely awesome - not just as a muscian/singer/songwriter, but as a compassionate, kind human being. Her clear tones and pithy
lyrics will speak to your own experiences. Rich with soulful
contemplation, her beautiful voice comes right from the heart. One of New
York's sweetest gems. Listen to the
sparkling voice of Karen Ires: karenIres.com

Crazy - there's no other way to describe
them. I'm talking about Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours,
the voice of Americana. The only thing bigger than Antsy's hair is his heart. Fun, creative yet poignant lyrics, he'll touch your heart if you're not careful. Every time I've seen this guy live, I just couldn't stop laughing. Also pictured is part of Bobby Cochran, Brian Gavron and Pauly Zarb, some of the members of Antsy's band, each of them amazing musicians. Comon, be a flamingohead and join the

Harold Payne has over 100 recordings with acts as diverse as Patti LaBelle, Rod Stewart & long time collaborator, Bobby Womack. He's also opened for Van Morrison, Kenny Loggins, Collin Raye, The Beach Boys & Hawaiian legend “Iz” (Israel Kamakawiwo..ole). And, get this, he's been an international ambassador of music and good will to Russia, Indonesia, Europe, Japan, Cuba, India & the South Pacific. What impressed me the most about Harold when I met him in LA was his genuine desire to help people and bring people together. Harold is the type of guy who never meets a stranger. You'll be touched by his magnanimous spirit when you hear his music.

Michael O'Meara passed on in September, 2007. He was an amazing musician and soulful player. I count myself fortunate in having known him as a friend and fellow musician. Michael plays bass on my CD, Sound of a face. He was sweetly electrifying on electric and a sensitive acoustic player as well. One of Michael's many unique gifts was letting people be just who they were without judgment. He was fun and childlike, brilliant and unpredictable. I never heard Michael ever speak a single word of criticism about anyone. He considered himself a simple man with simple needs. He had a magical way of making people laugh. Thank you for being such a beautiful part of my life, Michael.
I had the honor of being a part of the cover art for Yank Rachell's last CD, Too Hot for the Devil. That's me on the left. (Yank's CDs are available on amazon.com).
This Blues legend was born in 1910 in Brownsville, Tennessee, not far from Memphis. Raised on the sweat of a sharecropper's cotton farm, he found freedom in music. Mostly self-taught on the mandolin, he started playing every chance he got, perhaps most widely known for his original pieces, Divin' Duck Blues, and My Baby Left Town. The latter was sung by Taj Mahal in the opening of the original Blues Brothers movie. Yank passed away in 1997, in his home in Indianapolis, Indiana. His last CD features two of Yank's good friends, amazing acoustic guitarist, Pat Webb, and Allen Stratyner wildly wailing on harmonica. I will always remember Yank's soft-spoken, humble nature and his gentle spirit. May the sweetness of your music be ever flowing from the radiance of your kind heart.
